The Lion and the Mouse

A Lion was woken angrily when a little Mouse started playing on him while he was sleeping under a tree. The mouse pleaded for its life, promising, “I may someday help the mighty Lion.” Though amused, the Lion let the mouse go. Later, hunters trapped the Lion in a strong net. The Mouse heard its loud roars and came quickly. It gnawed through the thick ropes with its sharp teeth and set the Lion free, proving that even a tiny creature can help a powerful king.
